“We’re Not in Kansas Anymore: Bringing Your Sci-Fi/Fantasy /Contemporary Worlds into Technicolor” with Sarah McCabe
Great worldbuilding can help bring any book from black-and-white into vivid color, but creating a world can be daunting. Using real world examples, we’ll discuss important worldbuilding tips and tricks you can use to bring your world to life on the page, whether it’s set just down the street, in space, or in an entirely new world altogether.

Bio: Sarah McCabe is an associate editor at Simon Pulse, an imprint of Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing. She acquires teen books and the occasional middle grade with a focus in the science fiction/fantasy genres. She particularly gravitates toward darker, character-driven stories that discuss “big picture” questions like morality and the nature of good and evil. Recent books she’s edited include Lisa Maxwell’s New York Times bestseller, The Last Magician, Emily Suvada’s This Mortal Coil, and Nicki Pau Preto’s Crown of Feathers.
